Badal Sari
by Sunil Shakya
Strumming
D _ D U _ U D U
Badal Sari is one of the songs Sunil tabbed out for a private lesson a few years ago and the chart kept getting requested. The PDF below is the full transcription — chords, strumming markers, capo position, and a couple of fingering notes for the bridge.
This arrangement sits in D, no capo, with the kind of D-A-Bm-G vocabulary that anyone who's worked through the strumming-patterns blog post can play. The Bm is the only barre chord — practise the small-Bm voicing (top three strings barred at the second fret) before you attempt the song at tempo.
The strumming pattern is the D _ D U _ U D U that fits most modern Nepali pop ballads. The two missed beats are where the vocal naturally lands a sustained note, so the guitar gets out of the way for two ticks before coming back in.
For the in-page ChordPro chart we'll be uploading shortly, the PDF below has everything you need to play the song tonight. Print it, prop it on the stand, and you're set.
Play it through.
