Vanana Matra
by Sunil Shakya
Vanana Matra is one of the simpler arrangements in the folder, and a good first song to try if you've just got your G-D-Em-C vocabulary under your fingers. Key of G, no capo, with the standard four-chord progression that powers most Nepali folk-pop.
The strumming pattern is D D U U D U at 90 BPM. The pace is comfortable; the song lives or dies on the cleanness of the chord changes, not the speed of the strum. Practise just the Em-to-C and G-to-D transitions in isolation before attempting the full song.
There are two voicings of Vanana Matra in Sunil's folder — VANANA-MATRA.pdf and VANANA-MATRA (1).pdf — both are the same song with slightly different capo notations. The download below is the primary version. Email if you want the alternate.
